I was sooo close to having this CD. I bought it and it was sent but in the end the tracking number showed it delivered somewhere in Ohio, nowhere near where I live. I was even able to track down the person at the house and they claimed the CD never showed up and of course, the PO was of no help. Since then it’s been a mission of mine to find this CD, so far no luck at all but a good ol’ friend was able to at least get me the mp3s so now I know how he sounds. Half way there! I don’t know much about Joey D so if anyone has some information to share, leave a comment!

J.M Vox is Lionell Lomax, a member of “The Crew” which consists of himself, Tyrone Bradley and Nutee. I don’t know who Nutee is other than his real name is Ruford “Nudie” Henderson and his nickname is spelled a couple different ways depending on what CD you’re looking at. J.M.’s first release was on tape and vinyl, Question Authority. I have the Question Authority album with a big stack of albums I need to digitize & scan so I stole this cover image off Discogs. The tape is most certainly on my want list even though it has the same songs as the 12″ As far as I know JM Vox didn’t have another release until “Whats On My Mind“. As usual I seem to have a version different from everyone else. One of these days I’ll have to cop the version with rain drops on the cover. Based on some YouTube videos the back track list (not the back insert, just the tracks) and the CD are the same version I have. I’m not sure what the inside from the other version looks like so I’m curious if it has credits and featured artists since the mp3s I have from that other version are tagged with featured artists. I’m not going to trust that just yet, especially since they aren’t NW artists I’ve ever heard of, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t, I’m just unfamiliar with them and that doesn’t happen too often! So here they are, let me know if you can confirm these are legit featured artists: Ms. Mona, Sean Cookie Head Jenkins, Troy G, Mac Mizyc, Red Dog, K Funk and Jaque. Also, I supposedly have a tape version (mp3s) of Whats On My Mind, but once again, not sure I can trust that since the cover pic is some janky pic from the internet. If anyone can confirm there was a tape release that would be great. It would also add another to my want list! It’s surprising to me there is not more about J.M. floating around as I feel he was one of those old school legends who deserves more attention and credit so if anyone can help to add more information leave a comment.

The alternate cover of the CD I don’t have, want to sell, hit me up!
